An Introduction to The Danaher Method

Thank you for being here! I wanted to share The Danaher Method story and how I've clarified by business lately.

The Danaher Method began as a way to organize my own body and prevent injuries so I could continue to run long distances while working an intense corporate job.
I created this method to blend the best-of movements from fascia release, Pilates and Strength training to organize the body.
For 15 years I worked in an intense corporate job that took me from San Francisco to Hong Kong to New York. I worked long hours, traveled a ton and on the weekends ran long distances. Running and movement brought me a sense of calm and peace.
But the grind caught up to me in my 30s when a doctor told me I needed hip surgery to keep running the way I wanted to. Rather than opting for surgery, I embarked on a path of learning, rigorous study and self healing thru which The Danaher Method was born. |
Under Jill Miller, I studied fascia release to understand the complex anatomical web of our bodies (hint, our bodies are a house of cards). Under the Kane School I studied the Pilates methodology and gained a whole new appreciation for breath and alignment. I became a NASM personal trainer to deeper understand the biomechanics of strength training and programming.
These studies, along with my lived experience as a marathon runner and collegiate rower, are the foundations of The Danaher Method.
I created this method to blend the best-of movements from these modalities to organize the body. |
In the group fitness space I realized that there wasn't class where I could become an expert in form on complicated movements (e.g. a deadlift), strengthen my deepest, smallest core muscles AND release the stiff muscles that accumulated from my desk job.
I created a class format where you could do all of these things in a 60 minute class. What started out super grassroots in the parks of NYC is now the class I teach in-person and online. |

Facts About Catherine:
My source of inspiration... Is my dad (Johno! pictured here with me after the 2024 NYC Marathon). I grew up cheering on his marathons. As he's aged, I've seen the wear and tear on his body that's occurred from running without a complimentary mobility, core and strength training program. I work with my clients so that they can keep doing the activities they love to do long into life. (And I work with my dad whenever he'll let me!)
When I'm not teaching you'll find me... ...Searching for the best chocolate chip cookie in NYC (Gregory's and L'Apartment 4F are the current front runners)
Rest to me looks like... ...Bed at 9pm, waking up with the sun while the city is still quiet, a big coffee with cream
My fitness goal this year is... ...to increase the mobility in my feet and to do a pistol squat |
